Massachusetts Governor Patrick Administration Holds Open House For New Industrial Accidents Regional Office

Boston,  MA   (CompNewsNetwork) -  Top Patrick Administration labor aides joined local elected officials today at an open house at the new Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) Fall River Regional Office, at One Father DeValles Boulevard, in the Clover Leaf Office Park. The new location, which serves all of Southeastern Massachusetts, opened on Monday, April 7, 2008.

Flanked by state Representatives Michael Rodrigues, David Sullivan and Kevin Aguiar, Director of Labor George Noel said, “This new location underscores the Patrick Administration's commitment to providing citizens in this important region with better access to DIA services.”  The Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) is part of the Department of Labor, overseen by Director Noel.

Formerly located at 30 Third Street, the new Regional Office offers 400 parking spots, public transportation access through regional transit bus line, as well as a handicap accessible hearing room.

Judge Paul V. Buckley, Commissioner of the Department of Industrial Accidents, added, “Last year, the Fall River office managed nearly 2,900 cases, making it our busiest location outside of our Boston headquarters. This new location provides space that is user-friendly and enables our 19 full-time employees to continue to do the tremendous work of serving the public each day.”  Judge Buckley added that the new site is the result of strong interagency collaboration between the DIA and the Department of Capital Asset Management (DCAM).

The DIA Fall River Regional Office can be reached at 508-676-3406, 8:45 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  Information on DIA services can be found at www.mass.gov/dia.
