Hartford, CT  (CompNewsNetwork) - A former Connecticut Supervisory Assistant State's Attorney in Milford was convicted of larceny and forgery today for stealing funds at the court where he worked and from the state employee union of which he served as Treasurer.

L. The Honorable Judge Patrick J. Clifford entered findings of guilty on all three counts.

Mr. Hurley will be sentenced on September 17, 2008, when Tolland State's Attorney Matthew C. Gedansky is recommending a term of ten years incarceration, execution suspended after three years served, and five years of probation. The defense will have the right to argue for a lesser sentence pursuant to a plea agreement accepted today by Judge Clifford.

Mr. Hurley also kept money that was to be forwarded to charity as part of the resolution of cases in the Milford courthouse in the amount of $55,367.00.
