23 Jul, 2008 WorkersCompensation.com
Tallahassee, FL (CompNewsNetwork) - Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin
McCarty will testify before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and
Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations at a hearing entitled: "Long-Term
Care Insurance: Are Consumers Protected for the Long Term?"
Commissioner
McCarty will speak to the House subcommittee and offer comments on the increasing demand
for long-term care insurance products; and he will explain how Florida, with one of the
oldest populations in the United States, has implemented the most stringent requirements in
the nation to protect seniors from unfair rate increases, unfair trade practices and
discrimination insurance organizations.
A copy of the commissioner's testimony will be available on the home page of the Office of Insurance Regulation Web site (www.floir.com) once his testimony is complete.
Commissioner McCarty will testify on Thursday, July 24 at 10 am at The Rayburn
House Office Building Room 2123 in Washington, DC.
