Erie Insurance Giving Network Accepting Applications For 2023 Investing In Our Future Grants

Erie,PA ( WorkersCompensation.com) - The Erie Insurance (ERIE) Giving Network is accepting applications for 2023 Investing in Our Future grants. Now in its third year, ERIE’s education-focused community investment program will continue to support student success by investing in school readiness programs and out-of-school time activities for students throughout Erie County, Pa.

“Erie Insurance believes in the importance of lifelong learning, which has proven to be the key to sustaining community and individual success,” said Ann Scott, community outreach manager for Erie Insurance. “We see such positive impacts when children are engaged in learning before age six, or involved in before and after school activities or summer learning that is tied to academics. We encourage organizations that are providing these programs to apply for our next round of funding.”

In collaboration with Erie’s Public Schools, United Way of Erie County and The Nonprofit Partnership, ERIE identified priority areas that would support the educational success of students in northwest Pennsylvania. Investing in Our Future grants provide funding to nonprofits operating in Erie County (Pa.) that focus on school readiness and after-school activities.

According to Rina Irwin, chief executive officer of Child Development Centers, Inc., ERIE’s Investing in Our Future funding has made a positive impact on her organization’s mission of helping children make a successful transition to kindergarten, elementary school and beyond.

“Due to the generosity and support of Erie Insurance, we've been able to further grow and expand our childcare and early learning outreach,” said Irwin. “Through this grant program, ERIE is making an immediate impact on the students we serve today as well as an investment in our future.”

Investing in Our Future Grants will be awarded in amounts up to $150,000 for 501(c)3 nonprofits that serve students geographically located in Erie County. Grants may be renewable. Eligible programs should focus on the alignment between core instructional programming and out-of-school time activities and/or school readiness. Applicants will be asked to articulate the overall impact on the student — both at home and in school — and preference will be given to nonprofits that collaborate with other organizations with similar programs, goals and audiences.

The deadline for grant applications is January 27, 2023, and grant recipients will be announced in April.

Interested nonprofits can visit the ERIE Giving Network Investing in Our Future page for eligibility requirements, grant guidelines and to submit an application.
