DWC Posts Additional Adjustments to Official Medical Fee Schedule

                               

San Francisco,CA(WorkersCompensation.com) - The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has posted an order adjusting the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) section of the Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) to conform to changes in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) initially released the DMEPOS Fee Schedule 2017 zip file update in December of 2016. The DMEPOS update was adopted by the DWC Acting Administrative Director’s order of December 15, 2016. Subsequently, CMS issued a revised DMEPOS Fee Schedule zip file for 2017 in order to implement changes required by the 21st Century Cures Act. The Acting Administrative Director has adopted the revised DMEPOS Fee Schedule zip file for services rendered on or after February 1, 2017.

The update order is effective for services rendered on or after February 1, 2017, and can be found at the DWC website’s OMFS page.
