District Of Columbia Employment Services Hires New Deputy Director For Workforce Development

Washington, DC (CompNewsNetwork) - District of Columbia Director of the Department of Employment Services,Summer Spencer, announces the hiring of Mr. Larry C. Pinkett as the new Deputy Director for Workforce Development. Mr. Pinkett began his tenure at DOES on February 4, 2008.
Mr. Pinkett previously served as the Assistant Director of the Family Investment Division with the Maryland Department of Human Resources, as well as the Director of the Office of Work Opportunities with the Baltimore Family Investment Administration. In both positions, Mr. Pinkett developed, implemented, and managed programs that helped customers become economically self-sufficient through employment. Prior to his work with the Maryland Department of Human Resources, Mr. Pinkett held several executive-level positions in Massachusetts with private sector companies such as AT&T, Sodexho USA, and Polaroid Corporation.
"Larry brings a blend of public and private sector experience, as well as a wealth of experience in the human services and workforce development fields,” said Ms. Spencer."I believe his contributions will add value to our daily efforts to continue to provide unmatched services to our customers.”
Mr. Pinkett earned his MBA from Babson College and his BA in sociology from Morgan State
University. He successfully completed the Corporate Community Relations Program at
Boston College and the Executive Leadership Program offered at the University of
Maryland.
