Hartford, CT (CompNewsNetwork) - The Workers' Compensation Commission has announced Daniel E. Dilzer and David W. Schoolcraft as two new Workers' Compensation Commissioners.
A graduate of Central Connecticut State University, Commissioner Dilzer received his Juris Doctor from the University of Bridgeport School of Law in 1992.
Dilzer has practiced law both as a sole practitioner and as a partner in several law firms, where his experience has included civil litigation, commercial litigation, family law, personal injury, real estate transactions, and criminal law. He has also served as Executive Aid to the Mayor of New Britain, acting as the Mayor's liaison to various departments and agencies including police, fire, finance, economic development, and various community-based organizations, as well as assisting the Mayor with formulating a 150-million-dollar budget. In addition, Dilzer has served a number of boards, commissions, and other organizations in a variety of capacities, among them the Connecticut Army National Guard, the New Britain Housing Authority, and the State of Connecticut Victim Compensation Commission.
David W. Schoolcraft is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, Commissioner Schoolcraft received his Juris Doctor from the Western New England College School of Law in 1985.
Schoolcraft has practiced law both as a sole practitioner and as a partner in several
law firms, where his experience has included civil litigation, construction litigation,
environmental litigation, Federal Longshore cases, and workers' compensation (with
experience representing both claimants and respondents). His service to other organizations
includes membership on a number of commissions for the town of Hebron, where he has also
served on the Board of Selectmen; he was also an original member of the Connecticut Bar
Association's Workers' Compensation Section and served on its Executive
Board.
