Company Licensing Practices Not in Compliance with Connecticut Law

Hartford, CT (CompNewsNetwork) - Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Thomas R. Sullivan announces an order last week fining subsidiaries of White Mountain Group, headquartered in Delaware, $362,000 for violations to state law.

The total fine results from smaller fines assessed to subsidiary companies for violations to Connecticut state laws, primarily related to licensing/appointments of agents.

Violations and fines varied by company.

Atlantic Specialty Insurance Company, New York $104,000

Employers Fire Insurance Company, Massachusetts $112,000

Pennsylvania General Insurance Company, Pennsylvania $146,000

The company complied with the stipulation and final order, and will submit a compliance report to the commissioner within 90 days.
