California WCAB Posts Proposed Regulations Pertaining To Rules Of Practice And Procedure To Online Forum For Public Comment

Oakland, CA  (CompNewsNetwork) - The California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) has posted proposed changes to its regulations pertaining to its rules of practice and procedure on its Web site forum for informal public comment.

The WCAB's proposed changes are in accordance with Labor Code section 5307(c) which provides the court administrator with rule-making authority over certain elements of "district office procedure regarding trial level proceedings of the workers' compensation appeals board.”   The proposed changes are necessary because since the last informal posting of the WCAB's proposed regulations in November 2007, the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) has modified the originally proposed implementation plan for the Electronic Adjudication Management System (EAMS).

The proposed changes to the regulations are in Title 8, California Code of Regulations, sections 10300 through 10999.
