California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Issues Statement On Trinity County Helicopter Crash

Sacramento, CA (CompNewsNetwork) - California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement after a helicopter carrying firefighters crashed and was destroyed in Trinity County. According to reports, four survivors are being treated at hospitals for severe injuries. Nine remain unaccounted for and the FAA believes that they did not survive. The helicopter was reportedly carrying private firefighters under contract with the federal government.
"This is a tragic day for firefighters everywhere and the people of California are profoundly aware of the tremendous sacrifices these heroes and their families make day in and day out to keep us safe. We are praying for the swift recovery of the victims and our hearts go out to their loved ones."
In honor of the victims, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
