California Gov. Schwarzenegger Observes Seventh Anniversary Of September 11th Attacks

                               

Sacramento, CA (CompNewsNetwork) - Gov. Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement on the seventh anniversary of the tragic September 11th terrorist attacks:

"Seven years ago today, the world watched as our country came under attack and the lives of nearly 3,000 people were lost. This devastating act of terrorism transformed our nation and on our darkest day, our country united to comfort the loved ones affected by this tragedy. Today we come together as Californians and citizens of the greatest country in the world to remember these victims and honor those who sacrificed their lives on September 11th. Maria and I extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims' families, and we express our deepest gratitude to the brave firefighters, police officers and public safety officials who risk their lives every day to protect our citizens."

Today, Governor Schwarzenegger issued proclamations declaring September 11th Patriot Day and September Heroes of Flight 93 month. In honor of the September 11th terrorist attack victims, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
