California DWC Posts Adjustments to the DMEPOS section of the Official Medical Fee Schedule

Oakland, CA  (CompNewsNetwork) - The California Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) has posted an order adjusting the durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) section of the Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) to conform to changes in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1. The update includes all changes identified in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Pub 100-04 Medicare Claims Processing Manual, transmittal 1388, change request number 5803.

The order, effective Jan. 1, 2008 is the first Medicare quarterly update for the year 2008. The orders adopting the adjustments can be found at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DWC/OMFS9904.htm.
