Brantley Promoted To Alabama State Employment Service Director

                               

Montgomery, AL (CompNewsNetwork) - Bob Brantley, an Alabama Department of Industrial Relations employee for 37 years, has been named director of the agency's State Employment Service.

“I am pleased to announce Bob's promotion from supervisor of the Employment Service Planning and Evaluation Section, the position in which he has served the past 12 years,” says Tom Surtees, Industrial Relations director. “He is a loyal and dedicated professional who brings vast experience and insight to the very challenging role of State Employment Service director.”

Brantley previously spent 25 years in the Industrial Relations Labor Market Division, assigned to the Birmingham Employment Service.

“I am honored by my selection to lead the Employment Service and its outstanding staff of workforce specialists,” says Brantley. “The agency serves over 400,000 job seekers and thousands more employers annually through Alabama's Career Centers and Alabama JobLink Internet site. We are excited about Alabama's strong economy and job growth and our role in helping bring employers and qualified workers together.”

Brantley, a native of Birmingham, earned his bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Alabama in 1968. He has lived in Helena in Shelby County for the past 16 years.
