Alaska Workforce Investment Board Presents The 2007 Vocational Administrator Of The Year Award

                               

Juneau, AK (CompNewsNetwork) - The Alaska Workforce Investment Board presented the 2007 Vocational Administrator of the Year Award to Cheryl Edenshaw at its meeting  in Juneau. Labor Commissioner Click Bishop and Andy Baker, AWIB’s chairman, presented the award.

Edenshaw was selected for the award based on her commitment to workforce development in the Northwest Arctic as the director of the Alaska Technical Center in Kotzebue, where she’s worked for more than 20 years.

The award recognizes people who have made a significant contribution toward innovative, unique and novel programs that improve and promote vocational technical career education in Alaska at the secondary and postsecondary levels.

In accepting the award, Edenshaw thanked AWIB and the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development for their commitment in providing employment, education and training opportunities for Alaska’s youth that lead to high-paying jobs in high-growth occupations.
