Course Objectives:

For the first time in history, five generations are working side by side, each with different leadership, communication and career development styles. Comparing the risks for workplace injury between the older associate and their younger counterparts pose a myriad of difference. While the older associate is statistically less likely to have a workplace injury, their treatment and recovery times are often much longer compared to their younger counterparts. The younger generations are coming to the workplace with new “pre-existing” conditions that may pose additional risk for injury in this generation. Understanding how “tech neck” and “text thumb” are adversely affecting the younger generation. This presentation will compare and contrast the many differences amongst the generations in the workforce today. Discussing treatment options, recovery times, and the psychological differences amongst the generations and how they affect medical and indemnity.

  • Review the multi-generations in today’s workforce—briefly review each generation
  • Compare and contrast the different risk factors that increase the risk of injury in both the older employee and their younger counterparts
  • Review strategies employers can implement to mitigate loss
  • Review “tech neck” and “text thumb” and how these affect the younger generations
  • Understand how the various risk factors in a multigenerational workforce can adversely affect medical and indemnity
