AI’s Rapid Ascent: Do we need to be Worried – AI Lunch Club

Overview
How good has AI actually gotten, and what does that mean for the rest of us?
This free, one-hour AI Lunch Club session takes a step back from the tools themselves to ask a bigger question: how good has AI actually gotten, and what does that mean for the rest of us? We'll look at how fast the technology is moving, where it's headed, and what that pace means for jobs, education, and daily life. This session will be led by Chris Porter and Chris Snider from Innovation Profs. Porter is the director of the artificial intelligence program at Drake University and an associate professor of computer science. Snider is a professor in Drake's School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He teaches social media and digital media courses to both undergrad and graduate students. Innovation Profs is an AI education company that helps companies understand and implement AI tools. Learn more by subscribing to Innovation Profs' email newsletter. Fall AI Lunch Club events are made possible through a sponsorship from Drake University's Bucksbaum Lectureship in Business. Award-winning journalists Karen Hao and Nicholas Thompson will deliver this year’s AI-focused lecture, Decoding America’s Tech Moment, Oct. 21 at the Drake University Knapp Center (and live online). The event is free and open to the public.
