TX Proposal: Rules Relating to Chapter 166 Workers’ Health and Safety-Accident Prevention Services

                               

Austin, TX (WorkersCompensation.com) - The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers' Compensation (TDI-DWC) is accepting public comment on the proposal to add new 28 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §166.2, amend 28 TAC §§166.1, 166.3, and 166.5, and repeal existing 28 TAC §§166.2, 166.4, 166.6, 166.7, 166.8, and 166.9. The purpose of these proposed rules is to amend to various notice, service, and reporting requirements imposed upon insurance companies with regard to accident prevention services associated with Texas Labor Code provisions in Chapter 411, Subchapter E, Accident Prevention Services.

The proposal will be published in the December 14, 2012 issue of the Texas Register and may be viewed on the Secretary of State website at http://www.sos.state.tx.us/texreg/index.shtml once published. A courtesy copy is also available on the TDI website at www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/rules/proposedrules/index.html. The public comment period closes at 5 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Comments received after the close of the comment period will not be considered.

A public hearing on these proposals will be held at 1:30 p.m. CST on Friday, January 4, 2013 in the Tippy Foster Room of the TDI-DWC Central Office at 7551 Metro Center Drive in Austin. The TDI-DWC provides reasonable accommodations for persons attending meetings, hearings, or educational events, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
