MedRisk’s Roger Nelson to Address AMSUS

                               

King of Prussia, Pa (WorkersCompensation.com) - AMSUS, the Society of Federal Health Professionals, has tapped Roger Nelson, PT, PhD, FAPTA, vice president of MedRisk's Expert Clinical Benchmarks (ECB), to speak at its 118th AMSUS Annual Continuing Education Meeting in Phoenix on Nov. 14.  MedRisk is a leading managed care company specializing in the physical rehabilitation of injured workers.

Nelson will present three sessions during the Physical Therapy track of the conference's Allied Health Section. In the 10 a.m. session, “Patient Satisfaction: Cultural Variables,” Nelson will address the results of the MedRisk instrument for measuring physical therapy patient satisfaction conducted among a Native American population. Nelson will be joined by Kevin Basile, PT, MS, OCS, MTC, and director of clinical services for MedRisk for “The Public's Perceived Myths About Physical Therapy:  An Evidenced Based Approach,” which begins at 2:20 p.m. This presentation will focus on commonly held falsehoods such as “all patients need physical therapy treatment three times a week for four weeks.”  Later in the afternoon starting at 4:30 p.m., Nelson will discuss “The Development of a Residency Program in Electrodiagnosis.”
