King of Prussia, PA (WorkersCompensation.com) - Phil McClure, PT, PhD, FAPTA, vice president of MedRisk's research and academic subsidiary, Expert Clinical Benchmarks (ECB), has been named chair of the physical therapy department at Acadia University, Glenside, Pa. MedRisk is the leader in physical rehabilitation and diagnostic imaging solutions for the workers' compensation industry.
McClure has served as an Arcadia's PT department professor since 1998. During this time, he has also directed the university's highly successful transitional doctor of physical therapy program for 14 years, helping Arcadia became the first PT program in Pennsylvania to offer both entry-level and transitional PT doctorate programs.
As the new chair, McClure will lead a program that is ranked 14 among the 211 accredited graduate PT programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. As ECB vice president, McClure directs all clinical aspects of MedRisk's programs from peer reviews and the development and maintenance of evidence-based treatment guidelines to monitoring outcomes and patient satisfaction.
McClure replaces his colleague, Rebecca Craik, PT, PhD, FAPTA, who has been named dean of Arcadia's College of Health Sciences.
