Five Executives Named To Spencer Educational Foundation Board

                               

 

Los Angeles, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - Spencer Educational Foundation, which funds the future of tomorrow's risk management and insurance industry leaders, announced that five executives have joined its board of directors since December. Joining the board are: Teresa Black, Senior Vice President, Distribution Management for ACE USA; C. Zakia Campbell, Executive Vice President – North East Region Director for Willis Global Solutions; Jennifer Fahey, Chief Broking Officer for the U.S. and the Americas for Aon Risk Solutions; Seraina Maag, Chief Executive, North America Property & Casualty for XL Insurance; and, Marya J. Propis, Regional Industry Practice Officer for the U.S. & Canada and Distribution Officer for Lexington Insurance Company. 

“Each of these individuals has demonstrated talent, industry acumen and a passion for education,” said Spencer Educational Foundation Chairwoman Peggy Accordino. “We welcome them to the Spencer board and appreciate their sharing of themselves to help benefit risk management and insurance students.”

Teresa Black serves as Senior Vice President, Distribution Management. In this position, Ms. Black works collaboratively with ACE USA regional teams across the U.S. With nearly 20 years of insurance industry experience, she rejoined ACE in June 2012 from the New York City-based offices of Freedom Specialty Insurance, part of the Nationwide Group of Companies, where she served as a Vice President for its Management Liability division. Ms. Black received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Binghamton University, and an MBA in Finance from The Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.

C. Zakia Campbell is the Executive Vice President – North East Region Director for Willis Global Solutions. Willis Global Solutions helps the largest and most complex firms in the world address their needs by providing comprehensive, global solutions. Ms. Campbell works with her Willis colleagues as a resource, providing thought leadership, strategy, coordinated relationship management and other assistance for
the world's largest firms. Prior to joining Willis five years ago, she was an Executive Vice President with Aon, working in their Financial Institutions Practice Group. Before becoming a broker, Ms. Campbell was an Executive Director in the Risk and Insurance Management Department of Morgan Stanley. She graduated with honors from the State University of New York, College at Old Westbury, earning a B.A. in Political Science. Ms. Campbell is a licensed New York insurance broker and has her ARM certification. She continues to pursue professional development by periodically taking relevant courses. She has also served as a Spencer Educational Foundation Risk Manager in Residence at numerous colleges throughout the United States. 

Jennifer Fahey is the Chief Broking Officer for the U.S. and the Americas for Aon Risk Solutions. In her 15 years with Aon, she has served as the Aon Risk Solutions National Sales & Marketing Leader for the U.S., the Financial Services Group (“FSG”) National Directors' and Officers' (“D&O”) Liability Practice Leader, the Managing Director of the FSG Greater New York Region and FSG's liaison and manager for Aon (Bermuda) Ltd.'s Professional Lines broking practice. She also led the development of the FSG U.S. international advisory practice and international network. Ms. Fahey earned an A.B degree from Duke University and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University. 

Seraina Maag directs XL Group's multiline property & casualty operations, including underwriting activities for Property, U.S. Risk Management, Excess Casualty, Construction, Surety, Programs, Environmental and Excess & Surplus coverages in the U.S., Canada and Bermuda. She also has held leadership positions at Zurich North America. In addition to being named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, she holds an MBA from Monash Mt. Eliza Business School in Australia and is also a Certified Financial Analyst Charterholder. She was honored by the Foundation in 2012 at its Gala Dinner.

Marya J. Propis is the Regional Industry Practice Officer for the U.S. & Canada for AIG and Distribution Officer for Lexington Insurance Company. In these roles, she is responsible for driving growth and business development by launching and managing a series of Industry Practice Groups (IPGs), managing the U.S. and Canada national and regional industry leadership teams, driving overall strategies, thought leadership, and differentiation within Industry and leveraging Lexington's industry and product expertise to enhance AIG's client and broker strategies. Prior to her current role, Marya served as Vice President of Lexington Insurance Company, Chief Operating Officer of the Risk Specialists Companies, Inc., and Senior Vice President of AIG Sales and Marketing (May 2008 to October 2011). She holds Bachelor's degrees in English and Communications from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York.
