Denver Post Names Pinnacol Assurance Colorado’s Best Large Employer

Denver, CO (WorkersCompensation.com) - Denver-based workers’ comp insurer Pinnacol Assurance has been named Colorado’s top large employer by the Denver Post. This is the fifth consecutive year Pinnacol has been recognized as one of Colorado’s Top Workplaces. Last year, Pinnacol took the top prize for best work/life balance.
The accolade is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The anonymous survey measures drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization, including:
Alignment — where the company is headed, its values, cooperation, effective meetings
Coaching — managers care about concerns, are helpful, encourage employee development
Connection — employees feel appreciated, work is meaningful, working at full potential, feel informed
Engagement — productivity, retention, recruiting
Leadership — confidence in company leaders
Performance — execution, open-mindedness, innovation, clued-in leadership
The Basics — pay, benefits, work/life flexibility, training, expectations
Pinnacol ‘leads a revolution in caring’
Pinnacol takes seriously its vision “to lead a revolution in caring,” and this commitment starts with its own workforce. Throughout 2020, as Colorado adapted to the coronavirus pandemic, Pinnacol supported Colorado’s businesses, workers and communities. They also prioritized their own workforce’s health, safety and well-being, bringing about record-breaking employee engagement scores and satisfaction.
Pinnacol’s workforce was able to quickly pivot in response to the pandemic to a fully remote environment because they had already enabled the processes and technology necessary for remote work in years prior. Pinnacol quickly stood up a broad array of new and augmented employee resources to support their employees and their families, including virtual wellness classes and digital employee support networks. This resulted in greater productivity and a better customer experience.
“We’re committed to a mission of revolution in caring because sometimes people are meeting us on their worst day,” said Phil Kalin, Pinnacol president and CEO. “They are worried about their career, their finances and how they will support their families. We want to make sure we meet their needs with a big heart, so they have the support they need. This honor further motivates us as we continue to work to build a more agile, more inclusive and more customer-centric organization for our team, Colorado’s businesses and workers.”
