CHSWC Commissioners Reappointed by Senate President pro Tem

                               

Oakland, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation (CHSWC) is pleased to announce that Commissioners Kristen L. Schwenkmeyer and Angie S. Wei were reappointed to the Commission by Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, Chair of the Senate Rules Committee. Ms. Schwenkmeyer, a Democrat from Hermosa Beach, is President of Gordon & Schwenkmeyer, Inc., a telemarketing and fundraising firm established in 1985. Ms. Wei, a Democrat from Oakland, is the Legislative Director for the California Labor Federation, the state AFL-CIO.

CHSWC, created by the workers' compensation reform legislation of 1993, is charged with examining the health and safety and workers' compensation systems in California and recommending administrative or legislative modifications to improve their operation. CHSWC was established to conduct a continuing examination of the workers' compensation system and of the state's activities to prevent industrial injuries and occupational diseases and to examine those programs in other states.
