Broadspire®’s Jacob Lazarovic, M.D. to Present at 2014 WCI Conference

Atlanta, GA (WorkersCompensation.com) - Jacob Lazarovic, M.D., FAAFP, senior vice president and chief medical officer, Broadspire®, will be appearing in two panel discussions at the Workers' Compensation Institute®'s (WCI) 69th Annual Workers' Compensation Educational Conference® and 26th Annual Safety & Health Conference.
This national meeting will occur August 17–20 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla. WCI is a nonprofit educational organization that serves as a comprehensive resource to all workers compensation stakeholders. Broadspire is a leading third‐party administrator of workers compensation claims, liability claims and medical management services.
The first panel, titled “Early Intervention in Chronic Pain Claims: Not Just a Truism Any More,” occurs Monday, August 18, from 2:30‐3:15 p.m. EST. The panel will present the most current research on the biopsychosocial model as the new best practices approach to managing chronic pain claims. The second panel, titled “Critical Impact of All Stakeholders,” occurs Tuesday, August 19, from 9‐10 a.m. EST, and will outline and discuss how a collaborative process model works to yield breakthrough results in patient care, offering case studies on how managing the treatment process facilitates positive outcomes.
“This year's WCI conference provides an opportunity to interact with thought leaders from across the country, as well as engage in meaningful dialogue regarding workers compensation, safety issues and research outcomes,” said Lazarovic. “I am honored to offer my thoughts and perspective alongside such a distinguished group of speakers and panelists.”
Lazarovic directs the medical department at Broadspire and speaks regularly at national conferences. A board‐certified family physician, he attended medical school and completed residency training at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and practiced family and emergency medicine before entering into fulltime medical management.
