The Upcoming NWCDN Annual (Virtual) Conference

  • 10/28/21
  • Robert Wilson

The annual conference put on by the National Workers' Compensation Defense Network (NWCDN) is scheduled for November 10, 2021. It is a virtual event, running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Central. As with prior NWCDN events, both in-person and virtual, it is free of charge. And as I've written previously, it is an excellent value for people wanting to stay abreast of pressing issues in workers' compensation. The brochure is available here, and registration may be accessed here.

The NWCDN is a group of defense lawyers that offer like-minded defense strategies to employers with challenges in multiple jurisdictions. It was the first of its kind to essentially offer a national strategy to what has been traditionally a jurisdictionally focused element of the industry. Part of their strategy has been to offer both regional and national events for their clients to help them keep abreast of the ever-changing world of comp.

This year I am very pleased to have WorkersCompensation.com co-producing the event with NWCDN. We have been managing the registrations and will be hosting the event on November 10th. Kathy Bray, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary of SFM Mutual Insurance Company will provide the opening Keynote address. Her topic, “Looking for the Constants in a Sea of Change,” is timely and on point.

Other sessions include The Twists and Turns of Navigating Workers' Compensation Claims in the New Hybrid Work Environment, How to Avoid Litigation, Best Practices to Mitigate Risk, Avoid Common Pitfalls, and Effectively Manage Claims, and Psycho-Social Factors in Workers' Compensation: A Medical Perspective (Spoiler alert: That last session has been pre-recorded and I had the opportunity to see it. It is outstanding).

The NWCDN and WorkersCompensation.com cordially invite you to attend this event. A great deal of planning and effort has gone into this, and we hope you take advantage of its offerings.

"A Place Online for our CEO to Opine"

Robert Wilson is President & CEO of WorkersCompensation.com, and "From Bob's Cluttered Desk" comes his (often incoherent) thoughts, ramblings, observations and rants - often on workers' comp or employment issues, but occasionally not.

Bob has a couple unique personality characteristics. He firmly believes that everyone has the right to his (Bob's) opinion, and while he may not always be right, he is never in doubt. Enter at your own risk, and like all of our blog areas, we encourage you to read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page.
