On-duty Officer Killed By Alleged Drunk Driver On The Long Island Expressway

Queens, NY (WorkersCompensation.com) – A police officer directing traffic and helping to investigate a previous fatal crash on the Long Island Expressway was killed by a drunk driver early Tuesday morning.
Officer Anastasios Tsakos, 43, was diverting traffic off the highway when a Volkswagen veered to avoid other cars and struck the officer instead, Commissioner Dermot Shea said Tuesday during a news conference.
