Sarasota, FL (workersCompensation.com) – Workplace programs to address obesity can be directly correlated to a return-on-investment, thanks to a new study. Researchers looked at the causal effect of obesity on absenteeism and the associated lost productivity. They found that obesity:
Increases job absenteeism due to injury or illness by 3 days per year
Reduces annual productivity from $271 to $542 per employee per year, depending on the degree of obesity
