More Than Half of Emergency Personnel Report PTSD Risks, Mental Health Symptoms
Birmingham, AL (WorkersCompensation.com) - Working in the ER during the pandemic has come with an increased risk to mental health, according to a recent study that was published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine.
Researchers reviewed responses of 1,606 emergency department workers that included 402 non-clinical support staff, 638 physicians, 410 nurses, and 156 advanced practice providers from 20 hospitals across 15 states in different regions of the country.
