Portable Benefits For Gig Workers Bill Moves Forward In NJ
Trenton, NJ (WorkersCompensation.com) – A bill that would require businesses to fund benefit accounts for independent contractors has moved out of committee and onto that state’s legislative floor.
Sponsored by Assemblyman Troy Singleton, A-4705 would allow independent contractors to take their benefits with them, as well. The bill was advanced out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee on a 3-1 vote.
