The study, gleaned from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey organized by the Department of Health and Human Services was written by Thomas Selden, PhD director of the Division of Research and Modeling at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and published this month in Health Affairs.
