Poultry Companies Fined More Than $270,000 for Misclassification of Workers
Bozrah, CT (WorkersCompensation.com) – Two companies have been fined more than $250,000 for misclassifying workers, some of them as young as 14 years old.
According to a press release from the Connecticut Department of Labor, Five Brothers 1, of Sunbury, Penn., and Whitmore Poultry, in Orange, Mass., have admitted to classifying employees as independent contractors at the Hillandale Farms, a Bozrah, Conn. egg-poultry business.
