Arizona Sees Slow but Sure Improvements in Opioid-Related Challenges
Phoenix, AZ (WorkersCompensation.com) – Prescriptions for opioids to injured workers in six Arizona counties must be sent electronically to the dispensing pharmacy as of January; the requirement takes effect in nine smaller counties later this year. That mandate is described as one of the most groundbreaking initiatives in the state’s efforts to curb the abuse and misuse of the drugs in the workers’ compensation system.
