CA: BART Has Been Fined $650G for the Deaths of Two Workers
San Francisco, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - Regulators have fined San Francisco's Bay Area's Rapid Transit (BART) for $650,000 after safety violations led to a commuter train accident that killed two workers who were inspecting a track in 2013 during a union strike.
The BART agency was also placed on three years of probation by The California Public Utilities Commission, and if they commit any safety violations during this probationary period, their fine will be doubled.
