Sarasota, FL (WorkersCompensation.com) – The results of the latest CompNewsNetwork Pulse Poll, ranking potential challenges for the industry this year, are in, and it should be no surprise that the topics most selected were concerning Opioids and Medical issues. However, the poll also showed a general lack of consensus, as Opioids, the number one concern on the list, only garnered 20.9% of the overall vote. The poll asked CompNewsNetwork visitors to “select the ONE issue that you believe will be represent the biggest challenge for the workers' compensation industry in 2018.”
The unscientific poll revealed that Opioids were viewed as the biggest challenge for this year, followed by Medical Costs and Medical Cannabis. Coming in fourth was “Aging General Workforce.” The complete results were as follows:
Aging General Workforce
Aging WC Workforce
Declining Injury Rates
Additionally, poll participants were asked to rank the above risks in order of importance. The results of that question largely mirrored those statistics provided above.
