Towson, MD (WorkersCompensation.com) - Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Company recognized the Town of Rising Sun, located in Cecil County, Maryland, as its longest, continuous policyholder during a 100-year anniversary ceremony at Town Hall on Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Tom Phelan, president and CEO of Chesapeake Employers, presented Mayor Travis Marion and Calvin A. Bonenberger, Jr., Town Administrator, with an engraved tray and cake commemorating 100 consecutive years of providing workers' compensation insurance for the Town of Rising Sun.
“Today we honor and thank the town officials for their loyalty and commitment to our partnership to provide workers' compensation coverage and related services for your employees,” said Tom Phelan. “I also thank George Coudon and Mary Jo Ragan, owners of Crothers Insurance Agency, for being trusted agent partners.”
The Commissioners of Rising Sun purchased the workers' compensation insurance policy from the Maryland State Accident Fund, the predecessor to Chesapeake Employers, on December 13, 1917. The policy has been in effect continuously ever since. Chesapeake Employers has been in existence since 1914.
