San Francisco, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - HelloMD (hellomd.com) announced today that Miami is the next city to be included in its elite doctor's network for medical tourism. This follows the successful selection and rollout of leading doctors from Los Angeles and San Francisco earlier this year. The company provides priority access appointments with top doctors from all major specialties.
Inbound (to the US) medical tourism is a $5 billion industry with an estimated 1 million patients each year travelling to the United States to access some of the world's best medical care. While much of that revenue has historically gone to major hospitals, new technologies – like Telehealth – have made it feasible for individual doctors in private practice to participate. HelloMD has an international strategy, with translation of its growing body of content into five languages, and strategic alliances in China and elsewhere.
Florida represents a logical next step for growth of the elite doctors network, due to its close proximity to South America, excellent medical facilities, great weather and plentiful supply of highly skilled doctors. HelloMD has an initial target of 100 top specialists for inclusion, who will be marketed in five languages to patients both international and domestic.
"I am honored to have been selected by HelloMD as an inaugural South Florida member of their growing network of top physician leaders in their respective subspecialties," stated Dr. Lanalee Araba Sam, Medical Director of Elite Obstetrics & Gynecology, Florida. "My practice has always catered in part to international patients from Latin America, the Caribbean and elsewhere, seeking first class concierge obstetrical care, as well as, complicated robotic assisted gynecologic surgery. The HelloMD platform provides us with the tools to reach more patients, both domestic and international, and to disseminate our global message of exceptional care."
Medical tourism increasingly includes travel from within the United States, to internal destinations like Miami and elsewhere. Domestic service offerings from HelloMD include priority access appointments for corporate subscription holders with next day appointments using Telehealth technologies.
"We are excited to be working with some of the best doctors in Miami and the South Florida region," stated Mark Hadfield, CEO and Founder of HelloMD. "Patients naturally gravitate to what we call 'destination cities' and Miami has long been on our list. Over the next few months, we will be carefully interviewing and selecting more of the very best specialists in the region." he continued.
