WorkersCompensation.com Launches Mobile Friendly Site for Smart Phone Users

Sarasota, FL (WorkersCompensation.com) – A new mobile friendly service has been deployed for the world's most visited workers' compensation website, WorkersCompensation.com. Now people accessing the site via any smart phone browser will automatically be redirected to a mobile version of the website. It is the only major information site for the workers' compensation industry to currently offer such a service.

According to Robert Wilson, President & CEO of WorkersCompensation.com, this addition results from a recognition of the continuing trend towards mobile computing and wireless access. He says, “Mid-way through 2013 we spearheaded the biggest survey effort to date regarding the use of social media within the workers' compensation industry. One of the surprising things we learned from that effort was the extent with which the industry was using smart phones for larger general internet activities.” He indicated the decision to pursue a mobile platform was in part a result of that earlier survey effort. It appears the assumptions drawn from the survey were correct. The mobile site, which is still in beta format, launched the week of December 15th, and despite what Wilson describes as “the slowest traffic time of the year”, served over 6,000 web pages during the first two weeks of its existence. That accounted for about 1% of total web page traffic for that period.

Wilson also indicated they are learning to what extent employers are using these devices on a regular basis. One of the areas of the site being accessed is related to insurance solutions for employers. “85 employers came through mobile devices to find insurance in just under two weeks”, he said. “That number really surprised us, as it represents about 39% of total employer insurance queries for the same period. This was particularly interesting since it was over the holiday period, which is an extremely quiet time for our website”.

WorkersCompensation.com has a proven track record of innovation for the industry. The first to offer a comprehensive Legal Compliance Library, it previously had enabled mobile sites for its WorkCompResearch Members' Area as well as its CompNewsNetwork services. It also offers several forms based services, including Forms-Auto Complete systems and Virtual Claims Kits, driven by its FormCloud Library of 3,500 continually updated forms.

Users can view the mobile website by simply going to www.workerscompensation.com on their mobile phone.
