QME panel
#1
Hello, Iam a newbee to this whole thing. Here is my story. I had an accepted workers comp claim. Was given a PDR rating of 16 percent total body impairement for neck and back. My line of work requires lots of twisting at the waist and turning my head to look at a monitor to left of me. Very awkward body mechanics. Have been doing this for 26 yrs. Claims adjuster at WC was unhappy with report, picked everything apart abusely. Suggested I go with a QME panel to resolve issue. So dumb me gets a QME. What a joke!! This doctor tell me I don't have a disability, (mind you I have a retrolisthesis of C4 on C5, and two ruptured discs in my thoracic spine) he tells me to seek help with my family doctor to treat my ARTHRITIS!!. He says I have no work restrictions but recommends I don't twist and bend at the waist for long periods of time. This doctor is paid to dismiss all claims. How is this fair?? Im not out to make money off this but I can't work. I am currently looking for a work comp attorney.

Hire an attorney, and file for SSDI if you haven't already.

Thanks for the advice, will call an attorney in morning. Wish me luck I get a good attorney who will work for me. Its very difficult to put your trust into a complete stranger and hope for the best income. So far I have done that with WC and have gotten completely screwed.

At some point, you have to trust somebody. Interview more than one attorney, ask questions, then go with your gut feeling.

the best defense to bad advice is to become an informed patient or client.
that's why sites like this can be helpful.
if you post again, give us your state; all comp laws are state specific.
