Is money received while on Worman's Comp taxable or does it need to be reported?
#1
Is money that you received while on Workman's Compensation taxable? Or has it already been taxed and reported to IRS. Do you have to report it when you file your income tax?

Thanks,

Gary

disability payments from work comp or other disability sources is not defined as gross or earned income by the IRS.
see title 26 of the IRS code:

Workers compensation paymenys are not taxable.

Just to throw a note in. SSDI payments are another issue.
8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. After going back to school, I received my degree as a mechanical engineer. What can I say, it was the only way I had to beat the system.
