Mileage Reimbursment
Hi I'm from California I filled out my mileage sheet for the first time last month the 1st of last month actually and it's been more than a month I read some where that if it's more than 30 days late they will have to pay me a little bit more? Anybody know how much? How long did it take to get your reimbursement?

Also can I call my evil claims adjuster and see what's the deal? and why she hasn't send it to me. I know she got it because she confirmed she got the sheets. I faxed it to them. I still have the confirmation cover sheet.
never heard of getting a higher reimbursement after 30 days.
there are provisions for a 10% penalty on delayed amounts paid over 45 working days.
you should not be dealing directly with the employer/carrier if you are represented.
for the most part checking on a payment doesn't move it up higher in the que.
Reminder :
........Each state has their own comp system; POST YOUR STATE to get accurate information. Use the search feature to find information from similar questions.
If you do not have a lawyer representing you , you can call your adjuster and see why it has not been paid yet. I always had a good communication with my adjuster and sometimes they wait till they receive the bill from the appointment to make sure you went before they pay the mileage. Sometimes the paperwork gets lost in the shuffle.

That has happened before for me. If you call to remind them and be nice I found it worked better than being mean to them. If they are late paying it they can be fined a penatly but I do not know how many days late they have to be. It would not go directly to you but into a fund of some sort through the state if I recall. It is when you are reporting the IC itself for being late on paying you for your benefits you deserve. Sometimes they just need a friendly reminder.
carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%
IMHO, you need to pick your battles and a late mileage check just isn't worth the time. If after 45 days have passed, re-fax your mileage form, and on the cover sheet, mark it "Second Request".

Sometimes it takes longer to verify the appts. Tongue
