CA - Time Limits on Medical Mileage Reimbursement
#1
Is there time limits on medical mileage reimbursements?

I have a adj who just doesn't do his job. He is always late w/comp pymts and now it has been 37 days and still no reimbursement for mileage or medication that they failed to approve - so I had to pay out of pocket.

I was told that they have 45 days to reimburse otherwise contact the Information and Assistance Officer. I myself have been waiting since 6/22/09 and still no reimbursement but every case is different.

45 days is correct except if you work for the state which is an up to 60 day wait.
you should file after each trip.
penalties are to be automatically applied. if not you can file for an increased penalty.
there is separate section for dealing with utilization review and denial of treatment
see fact sheet A

file a complaint with the audit department and send a copy to the claims manager

Thank you! I knew you'd know. There is nothing like a "angry - useless" adjuster - his wrath is worse than any womens I know.

1171 is right.

Just as the injured workers who are fraudulent give ALL injured workers a bad name, lazy, incompetent or just plain mean-spirited adjusters give ALL adjusters a bad name.
