Hi Hurt....this is not uncommon when you are going to go before a judge. His office may have asked for this in advance or did your lawyer if you have one ask for this. During the first two phases of SSDI application process... that paper work is reviewed by a medical professional and a trained employee of SSDI. The hitch is that the medical professional may have been an OT, or PT, or social worker versus a doctor as most assume. This person may want more information or another evaluation because they saw something that gave them thought even for or against and they are looking for more information so that they can make a better decision. I would advise that you hire an attoney or organization that helps people to obtain ssdi if you have not. Did you fill out your function reports and did someone close to you fill out the 2nd one? That function report is where most of the information is obtained and must fit with the doctor notes on your situation. Best wishes Red

hi red the first time around i got the big no from the ime then the second time was the mental exam this lady was telling things like well i pass alot of people and so on.i said nothing.now the papers come to day saying you need to see another person for a mental exam.yes im nuts lol well really feel like it anyhow.the lady that did the exam for mental told me flat out they hire they to say no.still i said nothing to her words and she also told me that on guy she seen has been through four mental exams then she put him through and the state called and asked why she did this to help him get ssdi.so thats why im lost.sorry i was no clearer the first time around in my post.just think to much i guess.thx hurt-nuts lol (:

maybe this doctor has lost her credibility if I understood you correctly and the two that reviewed your files knows that and wants another doc's opinion...only a guess... do you have a lawyer... Red

Well, I still think you could use my advise. Go, when brought in the room, strip down with all clothes removed, and act like nothing is wrong at all. Tongue

Hi, Hurt,

I was turned down twice already for the ssdi and it is round three for me..waiting for a hearing before Alj judge now. The strange thing is, when I applied, I was seen by an ssdi psychiatrist for evaluation who actually recommended me for disability due to depression. I was never ordered to see an orthopedic specialist for my hands/shoulders or lower back problems.
When I appealed, they turned me down again(really quick) without any more IME's.

I know, in my case, I was turned down because I fell into the 90% majority, who must be turned down even if they are half dead. I have attorney for round three who believes I have a 95% succes before the Alj judge, but the waiting time can be close to two years.

Hope you will be approved soon.
I think, Bad Boy has a very good advice, because my sister did similar thing a few years ago(not here, but in Europe). She had several health problems, but they kept her with 50% disability only, not 100% and she had to keep going for IME's every year and work part time. As she had mental issues also, for her next IME she showed up in a bikini(on purpose). Mind you, it was January and freezing...l tell you, she was approved in record time. To top it up, she also put a bra over her bikini top.

Good luck on your next IME and do whatever is necessary to succeed.
i have had a lawyer all along the first one was medical exam and he turned me down, second was the mental exam and i think the put me through so they set up another exam this time psych.ssd called when my lawyer filed my appeal and left a crappy message about my lawyer filing the appeal instead of me so i call my lawyer and he called them and i have not got any more calls from the ssd office.thx all guess will see what happens

I am up to round 5 with my SSDI - even though I just recently returned to work. For the time off from work the 3 judge panel bashed the alj for not taking into account my pain levels, spasms, fatigue, etc on a daily basis. The alj said I could work even with the meds I was on that just wore me out completely. It wasn't until my rhuemmy changed up my meds (previous meds were from neuro) and figured out what was going on that I was able to return to work. Does that mean I still don't suffer - NO - I still get spasms when I am winding down after work. As long as things don't advance to much I can deal with it. Also shoulders are still hurting but then again that is normal considering what is going on in the one shoulder ....... lol

Don't give up just because of what is going on. Call the local SS office and see what is going on with your case - you have every right to know. If it is up to the alj - then someone from his office will call you back normally. At least that is what happened to me.
