Using the AMA guildlines how are some of the way they come up with ratings, for example, no working over chest level verses no working over shoulder level. Weight limits;;;no lifting over 5. pds verses no lifting over 10. pds. Is all this caluated into the finished rating...Also does Voc. Reb. really listen to a person about what they can and can not do?
Some day I will wash my hair with 2 hands again!
2 shoulder surgeries on right shoulder, still not able to do to much. At MMI waiting for rating Vt.

Hopefully, someday you'll wash your hair w/ 2 hands!
After 3 shoulder surgeries and 4 yrs....I still can't, and I know there are others on here in the same boat. I pray you are one of the lucky ones!!
I really don't know how they calculate the ratings, sorry....someone will come along soon who may know.
take care & good luck, Lilly

I have to say, this doesn't sound like rating information. It does sound like more of a FCE Evaluation, or a set outline of Restrictions placed on a person. A Rating is based on the use of the Injured body part. As to the body part or as to the whole body.

AMA ratings measure range of motion; strength; atrophy among other factors.
