I am reaching out for settlement advice for California.
I'm nearing settlement, and want to try to make an informed decision on what to accept...any advice on how to evaluate the offer -- and what to expect in the process -- would be greatly appreciated. We are pretty stressed out here...
What is "life" considered in California...how many years? Any Experts out there?
Thank you,
JJ

the length of one's life differs depending on age.

you can look at how social security evaluates it here
http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/STATS/table4c6.html
you might want to review the factsheet on permanent disability before deciding about "settlement"
http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/FactSheets/FactSheet_D.pdf

p.s. you should be clear as to what you mean by "settlement"; it may not mean what you are assuming it does.
Reminder :
........Each state has their own comp system; POST YOUR STATE to get accurate information. Use the search feature to find information from similar questions.
THANKS FOR POSTING.

Hi JJ,
Are you able to give more details, Did someone pass away because of a work related injury?
