New Employee Injured at work today-California
Hi everyone It’s been a long time.  I’m writing on behalf of my fiancé.  He works for a Medical Center in the construction Dept. This is a new job that he started June 1, 2020, he just passed his 90 days, and hasn’t heard anything about insurance or his 90 evaluation. 
Anyway,  He was carrying two large rolls of blue prints up some stairs, once he got up the stairs, he needed to use his pass card to get inside, so he put the blue prints down to unlock the door.  Once the door opened, he used his foot to hold the door, he picked up a blue print roll and felt a pop/snap with instant burning shooting pain. No one saw this happened except the security cameras.  He went inside, dropped off the blue prints in the office, and then reported the incident to his Boss.  His boss called the “On Site EMT” who came and saw him and determined  He needed to be seen by a doctor immediately as the emt felt “here’s definitely something wrong with your shoulder”.   His Boss called “Safety Mgr” to file a report and interview him.  My fiancé was sent to the Medical Center human resource Occupational Dept where he was seen and evaluated by a nurse practitioner, she said he was fine and to return to full duty that all he had was a muscle strain. So, we decided to see our own Dr, our dr told us he definitely tore his rotator cuff and possibly his. Bicep.  She took xrays of his Shoulder  and told him he needed to see his orthopedic surgeon who did his previous bicep repair earlier in December2019. So as you can see there’s a previous injury that was successfully repaired in December 2019 but now reinsured.  (It was not work comp injury) 
My question is Our Dr told him to take the rest of the week off but the Occupational Med Nurse said for him to return to work full duty, what should he do?  Also, since he just completed his 90 days, he knows that his job is now in jeopardy since he reported the injury. The Safety Mgr already told him that any time off is “Unpaid” so he would have to return to work.  What do we do?!

Settled Work Comp Case 2006 w/ Lifetime Medical Currently, C7-T1 is being watched will possibly need surgery front/back fusion from C3-T2, lower back needs another facet injection.
