Last year I had a laminectomy and L5-S1 fusion and next month I am supposed to be fully healed and go in to get my impairment rating. After dealing with WC insurance for almost two years since they originally denied me and it took 4 attorney consultations and almost a year to get approved for surgery, I want to settle for impairment and future medical costs.
I am 24 years old and in the 60 or so years I have left it is highly likely I will need a subsequent surgery(s). Definitely don't want t deal with the process 20 or so years down the road.
How is the settlement amount determined in regards to the likelihood of future medical procedures?
Has anybody dealt with this or know how it works?
