when do wages start accruing (WC in michigan)
#1
hi all i had a question regarding workman's comp wages.

if I was actively seeking/receiving treatment/diagnosis for 2 weeks (waiting for appointments/MRI results/etc.) and then a diagnosis is given along with a doctor’s note saying no working allowed for 6 weeks, are both the 2 weeks and 6 weeks payable to me? or just the 6 weeks with the note?

it seems silly but i have a feeling the workman's comp insurance will say something silly like i didn't have a doctors note saying i couldn't work the first 2 weeks...

Are the doctors refusing to say you were unable to work those 2 weeks?
If so, you will have a problem.
The law does not require they give you 2 weeks pay just on your word.
Disability determinations require medical evidence; notes from you, friends, relatives, employers, neighbors, etc. are not sufficient.
If you produce a copy of the physician's chart notes for that period, it may be enough.
The section on wage loss benefits gives basic information on how to establish such a claim.
