Question about settling
I was injured late last year at work in kansas. I had herniated disc with far left extrusions and had to have a laminectomy. I will be going back to work in the next few months on light duty and its getting close to the point of being as good as it is going to get.

Im rather concerned about settling and re injuring my back. Will my insurance cover any surgeries I might need going forward if I hurt it again?

I know you can leave medical open but if they want to just close the whole case. Would i just have to pay out of pocket from settlement money or does my insurance cover stuff going forward?

I am 38 years old. Thanks for any help.
You have to contact your private insurance to see if they will cover it. Make sure you tell them for a completely closed work comp claim will they then cover the injuries.

Every private insurance company I contacted told me they did ( but check yours).
I am not an attorney.Anything I write should not be considered legal advice.I am writing from my own personal experiences, which is not from any sort of legal background. You should consult with an attorney over legal issues. In California, if you cannot get an attorney you can consult with an I&A officer.
Comp doesn,t cover you or your back.
It only covers what happened at work to your back last year. If you have another incident at work you can another comp claim; otherwise its not covered.
Reminder :
........Each state has their own comp system; POST YOUR STATE to get accurate information. Use the search feature to find information from similar questions.
Okay I will check with insurance. Thank You
Arizona - I have had three surgeries since 2003. Cervical Spine.
I do not know if I can settle or let them hack at me some more. I am 67 years old and I don't have much faith in surgery. I have been on medicine for nine years and now they decide I ought to
stop it. That is a very pleasant thought! It is supposed to be.

Insurance companies are powerful!!

I don't know if I should settle after two surgeries or let them perform a third. I have chronic neuropathy in both feet which really makes life tough.

a haven't done anything wrong, I am just in a very unfortunate place says my doctor.

Thank you and good luck,
Hello, a few years ago I turned my leg and couldn’t work, I had an operation, but I damaged it again. Insurance did not cover all expenses, only part. Maybe it's my insurance, good luck!
