Spinal cord stimulators come with risks

I wanted to repost this news story as there are many injured workers who are implanted with these devices. I really did not know how invasive this procedure was until I looked up an instruction manual online for a particular device. I would recommend to any patient considering having one implanted to read one of the guides for doctors to implant this device, where the leads are placed and what bones in the spine are removed.

The first time I looked up one of these devices was for a friend who got foot drop shortly after being implanted. It was a foot that he never had problems with before. When he talked to his doctor about it he was told it was not related. Not related? Foot drop is listed as a possible side effect and looking up his particular device there were hundreds of complications reported.

I have seen this device help other patients. I think being fully aware of possible complications would be helpful to patients considering this.
I am not an attorney.Anything I write should not be considered legal advice.I am writing from my own personal experiences, which is not from any sort of legal background. You should consult with an attorney over legal issues. In California, if you cannot get an attorney you can consult with an I&A officer.
I have adhesive arachnoiditis and have had 3 doctors who suggested a spinal cord stimulator, the bad part of this is that all 3 doctors knew not to do anything invasive to the spinal cord if one has adhesive arachnoiditis, my question to my self is why would they suggested it knowing the hazard if it wasn't about the money.
I second to what Cali said.... I had a SCS implanted and then removed 6 months later due to pain and problems and now, 4 years later, I still have nerve damage to my mid back region where they did the wires. My uncle was suppose to get one after he passed the week trial one, but after he saw what I went through he opted out.
