I got an attorney to file my workers comp claim last year. My claim was denied, but just had my deposition and my attorney will appeal. I'm also going to a clinic through my attorney, where the doctor has me on disability and giving me treatment. I haven't reached a final report yet.
I'm on medical leave and still technically employed by company, but I'm considering quitting and starting part-time freelance work. If I did this, can I still continue with the workers comp process until I receive my final report from the doctor?
Or in order for me to be able to have income as a part-time freelancer, would I have to quit my job and also quit the workers comp process (as in ask for a settlement right now even though I haven't even gotten my final report)?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
