Drawing umemployment off your work comp
#1
I live in Illinois and found out today you can draw unemployment benefits from your Workman comp checks. Now I don’t know about other states but you might want to check and see if your work comp checks have stopped and you don’t have any income.

do you have link?
workers comp requires disability and is paid by the carrier; unemployment requires you to be able to work. they are not the same.
Reminder :
........Each state has their own comp system; POST YOUR STATE to get accurate information. Use the search feature to find information from similar questions.
THANKS FOR POSTING.

Illinois pays you unemployment and you don,t have to look for work??!!
I don,t buy it. I think this is bad information.
You have to be able to work to get unemployment:

Here in NY, to get Unemployment, you must be Willing, Able & Ready to work.. If you don't meet any of them, you don't get unemployment..

I didn’t say you don’t have to be looking for work but if you have restrictions such as lifting, bending, twisting can’t sit to long can’t stand to long, most employers are not going to hire you with these restrictions. I have drawn unemployment with these restrictions, I’m sure not lying about it and it’s not bad information but your entitled to your opinion. I’m just trying to help people have some income when work comp stops paying. Could be different in other states this I don’t know but I would ask to see.

Before I settled, I had so many restrictions, it wasn't funny.. What I was told right by the Comp Judge is that I had to look and apply at jobs that FIT those restrictions. No If's, And's or But's...
